HOW WE HELP

  • $1,000 scholarship awarded to each recipient of the Miss Gilroy Rodeo title

  • $11,000+ donated to Jacob's Heart Children Cancer Support Services to help fight pediatric cancer in our area

  • $22,000+ given in 2022 to non profits in our area to to benefit their organizations or programs

OUR MISSION

Our mission is simple: Bring rodeo and the spirit of western heritage back to Gilroy while enriching our community both culturally and financially. Our supporters may work year-round devoting their time, goods, services and money to the event.

One the best events at the Gilroy Rodeo actually takes place in the stands! In 2018, we founded our "Gilroy Kick'n Cancer" initiative. Volunteers and visiting rodeo queens walk the stands collecting donations in an old cowboy boot which allows us to donate thousands of dollars to local organizations fighting pediatric cancer in our area.

Whenever possible, the Gilroy Rodeo outsources tasks like trash clean up, ticket taking, and parking detail to local organizations. We also give first priority to other non profits who would like to sell food and drink at our event. For example, the Gilroy Future Farmers of America (FFA) boosters have sold sandwiches to spectators at our event since 2018. They’ve used the money raised for leadership conferences, school farm updates, scholarships and more!

Gilroy Rodeo is proud to be a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) entity, with no paid employees. With sold our crowds in 2021 and 2022, we’re so grateful for the progress we’ve made in 5 short years!
